POLICIES & RULES

  • PRIVATE LESSONS

    ○ Class fees do not include tournament coaching & USFA membership
    ○ Private lessons are available to the club members representing SBFC only.
    ○ Private lessons are 20 minutes or 40 minutes long and need to be booked at least 24 hours before.
    ○ Double lessons are only available between 3pm to 5pm, under coach approval
    ○ There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all private lessons, NO SHOW will be charged in full
    ○ No make up for private lessons, you can reschedule only if you cancel 24 hours before
    ○ If you’re late for your lesson we will do our best to still do the lesson, lesson will be with the first coach available

  • PAYMENTS & CANCELATION


    ○ Late fee is $25 for payments made later than 5 days
    ○ Refund or Cancellation; We do not offer refunds, but are happy to change service or give you a credit for it.
    ○ Credit or Gift Cards are not transferables
    Group Classes Payment: All group classes fees are charged 28th of each month
    Cancel Group Classes or Auto-payment, Let us know via email before the 28th of the prior month.
    Lesson Payment: Lessons will be charged once you have reached the last lesson of your package
    ○ Students that started mid-month or later will be charged the difference + next month

  • CLASSES, CAMPS & MAKE UP ClASSES


    ○ Class fees do not include tournament coaching & USFA membership
    ○ Group class cancelations: we offer make ups in other similar level class in case non of our classes works for you please contact us
    ○ Make Up classes available for Beginner Level
    ○ No Make Up Classes for Intermediate or advanced level
    ○ Make ups are available only while the student is enrolled in our program
    ○ We do not offer refunds, please be sure once you sign up!
    ○ Camp; You can change date of your Camp as long as there is space available
    ○ Camp; If you cannot attend, we can provide you with a voucher for future camps, no refunds sorry

  • CLUB PRACTICE & TOURNAMENTS

    ○ USFA membership is required for participation in all programs/activities.
    ○ Athletic outfit during practice required
    ○ South Brooklyn Fencing Club does not accept dual club representation.
    ○ All members that represent SBFC in any event must have SBFC patch or Sticker
    ○ Students are responsible for their own equipment, before tournaments each students must test their own equipment.
    ○ South Brooklyn Fencing practices a Safe Sport policy, all our coaches are professional members of the US Fencing Association and Safe Sport certified.

  • SOUTH BROOKLYN FENCING CODE OF CONDUCT

    Inorder to ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all our members, everyone who uses our facility must adhere to our code of conduct. By using our facilities, you agree to abide by this code and be subject to its disciplinary provisions. We expect you to show respect for our fencers, coaches, visitors, staff, volunteers, the facility and the rules of the game.

    1. Fencers must behave in a sportsmanlike manner, at all times. Behavior that would get you a warning or yellow card at a competition, will get you a warning or yellow card at the club. This includes but is not limited to the following prohibitions:
    .Swearing. .Name calling or negative talk. .Throwing equipment. .Hitting or kicking the floor or walls. .Yelling. .Misuse of equipment.

    2. If your behavior would get you a black card at a competition, it will get you a black card at the club.
    Such behavior will result in your being required to leave the facility immediately and includes, but is not limited, to the following prohibitions:
    .Dangerously throwing equipment. . Willful damage to club property. . Dangerous or vindictive fencing. . Shouting matches, Fighting or Threats. . Extreme unsportsmanlike conduct. . Failure to follow the directives of the coaches or board member on duty.

    3. Fencers who are black carded more than once or whose behavior is particularly egregious are subject to suspension from the club and will be prohibited from using the facilities for the time of the sanction

    4. All students enrolled in the low-level programs, under the age of 16, have to announce their class coach before leaving the premises.
    There is no exiting the class without permission, leave early or being picked up outside.
